The 2nd Annual Hampton Roads Bluegrass Jamboree will feature many of the top bluegrass bands in the country. Headlining the show will be three big names: The Grascals, Blue Highway, and The Lovell Sisters Band. The Grascals moved in just one year from winning the International Bluegrass Music Association?s Emerging Artist of the Year award (2005) to earning its top Entertainer of the Year honor (2006), while scoring a Song of the Year trophy, entries in myriad critics? ?best of the year? lists and a set of personal appearances that would be the envy of almost any entertainer. One of the most esteemed and influential groups in contemporary bluegrass, Blue Highway has released six acclaimed albums, received a Grammy nomination, topped the Bluegrass Unlimited radio charts, won a Dove Award and an astonishing 11 International Bluegrass Music Association. The talented and beautiful Lovell Sisters deliver an innovative fusion of newgrass, country, and folk, all with tight harmonies and outstanding musicianship. All 3 sisters (Jessica, Megan, and Rebecca) were classically trained, with sister Rebecca being the youngest contestant and first female to win the Merlefest International Mandolin Competition. They won NPR's National Teen Talent Competition in 2005 and have been featured on TBS Storyline. They're currently working on their 2nd CD with acclaimed Nashville producer Mark Bright (Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood).
