Celebrate nature with Norfolk Botanical Garden at Garden's Eagle Festival and Symposium! This spectacular event celebrates and educates 'all things' eagles. The festival hosts 2 major events -- the Eagle Festival and the Eagle Symposium.

Eagle Festival:
Date: May 5, 2012

The Eagle Festival includes demonstrations, live animals, booths, arts and crafts with an eagle focus, birding supplies and equipment, music, food, contests, activities for children and adults and a visit from “Buddy,” an educational eagle hatched at the Garden.

The Virginia Department of Game Inland Fisheries, Wildlife Center of Virginia, Virginia Zoo, Virginia Aquarium, State Parks and many other organizations will be present to guarantee an incredible day!

Eagle Symposium:
Friday, May 4th, 7-10pm
Saturday, May 5th, 8:30am-9pm
Sunday, May 6th, sunrise-10am

Join the experts in for the entire event or individual sessions for an in-depth look into the biology, ecology, issues and behaviors of eagles.

The symposium begins at 7pm Friday night with a lecture and dessert reception followed by a night hike through the Garden.

Kick of Saturday with a breakfast/lecture with all of the behind-the-Eagle-Cam team followed by a day of 45 minute presentations by national specialists. The culminating session is an intriguing panel discussion with all of the eagle specialists.

The fun continues after the festival and symposium sessions with a BBQ dinner, photography opportunities, star-gazing, night hike and a campfire.

If you still have not had enough, come back before sunrise Sunday morning for that beautiful early morning light photography time, enjoy breakfast followed bird-watching by boat or walk the Garden. There will also be an optional birding field trip to the Eastern Shore for a limited number of guests.

***A block of rooms have been reserved at the Hilton Norfolk Airport for Eagle Festival attendees. The special room rate will be available until 4/4/12 or until the group block is sold-out. Complimentary parking and shuttle service from Hilton Norfolk Airport to Norfolk Botanical Garden will be included.
